It’s the sound of a band that stumbled on its first try and decided to take the hit anyway, because that’s how growth is designed. Songs about therapy and self-reinvention sit next to odes to ’90s nostalgia and punk rock roots; anthems about anxiety as an uninvited houseguest sit next to reminders that life isn’t a zero-sum game.
