Death Cassette Join Pee Records Family!

Absolutely stoked to announce today that Canadian grunge-infused punk quartet Death Cassette have joined the PEE RECORDS family for the release of their new album this year!

Formed in 2018, Death Cassette has rapidly built a reputation for intense, high-energy live performances. Vocalist / guitarist Amanda Sousa delivers a captivating, interactive stage presence that commands attention and pulls audiences directly into the experience. The band’s signature sound seamlessly blends melodic punk, hardcore energy, and gritty 90s alternative influences into a raw, emotionally charged sonic landscape.

Death Cassette first captured national attention in 2023 with their debut release, Grim, and sophomore EP, Get Rid of It. Both records earned significant traction on Canadian college radio, with the breakout single “Reflector” climbing to a top spot on the Earshot Loud Charts.

The band’s latest material pushes their 90s grunge-punk influences to new heights, channelling the raw, nostalgic energy of iconic acts like Hole, L7, and the Pixies. The new video single, “Cheaper To Die” serves as a blistering preview of the full-length album, loaded with fierce guitar licks and a boldly authentic, angsty truth that defines the band’s evolution.

When the guys at High End Denim Records pitched their new album our way, one listen had us hooked. Their recent video single “Cheaper To Die” has given us a taste of what’s to come, with blistering licks & the justly bold angst of truth, it’s a worthy album title track.

Guitarist Lindsey Hawkes comments, “The title track “Cheaper to Die” is a straight ahead punk riff with a petulant vocal tone about the frustrations of a reactive healthcare system that seemingly would rather fund someone’s death than life. The lyrics were inspired by vocalist Amanda’s experience working at a nursing home and navigating healthcare support for her disabled, chronically ill grandfather.”

PEE RECORDS join a five label worldwide cooperative for the 13 November release of Cheaper To Die on a Limited Edition Red / Black Galaxy LP, which you can pre-order here now! If you love raw, angsty 90s alt-grunge-rock energy you are going to be completely hooked on this album.
Welcome to the family Death Cassette!!
